Who Can Attend DLC?
Graduating 3rd grade - 1 year High School Post Grad
High School Graduates may attend a grace year after they graduate from High School. The summer after their senior year is their senior year. The year after is their grace year. There are NO REQUIREMENTS to attend DLC.
Campers are divided into grade levels. Bible study and activities are split up as follows: Completed 3rd – 5th (Elementary), Completed 6th – 8th (Junior High), & Completed 9th and above (High School). 3rd – 8th is considered our Junior Varsity and 9th and above is considered our Varsity.
High School or Varsity students work throughout the week preparing for an off campus ministry opportunity Wednesday night consisting of service to the community, Church programs, music, testimonies, skits, pantomimes and more.
Groups are also placed on a color team to build a little competition throughout the week with all sorts of activities including game time, bible study, missions, verses and lots of surprises!
Where are we?
New2-22!!! DLC will be at a brand new camp called Manderley Christian Camp and Conference Center in Pikeville TN. It's just 15 miles and 22 minutes NW of Ft. Bluff where we previously held camp. We look forward to a new location and all the new activities it will bring. Check out their website by visiting www. manderleycamp.org. Manderley does not have a pool or water features but we are excited to have a Zip line and other new activities! Pikeville is some of the most beautiful scenery and magestic landscapes. Your student spends seven days enjoying God's handiwork while growing in the Lord.
What are We?
Dixieland Leadership Camp was established in 2006 by a board of counselors who wanted to continue the legacy and design of Awana Scholarship Camp. For more than 60 years, Awana has been reaching children and youth around the world for Christ. One of the ways we continue to reach and develop youth to lead the next generation for Christ is through Dixieland Leadership Camp. DLC is no longer just for AWANA clubbers. Our camp is now open to Christian/Bible Believing students from all over the United States. Seven Days of an amazing experience, quite possibly the most exciting week of their lives!
What are the counselors like?
Our carefully screened and hand-picked adult counselors love kids and have several years experience working with kids. They are Church staff, sunday school teachers, AWANA Commanders, Directors, & Leaders, some even Citation achievers who love The Lord and understand the level of importance God's Word plays in the lives of our young people. Some of them are past campers who return to give back to the camp that helped shape their Christian Walk. Now you have one of the greatest environments in the world for your kids to spend a whole week!
What do we do all week?
More Fun than they can handle! From Game time activities, personal devotions, free time, gaga ball, and new2-22 a ZIP LINE! Some beautiful views can be seen as well! Three Square Meals a day. A little healthy competition. Their week will include Bible classes and chapel services designed just for young people. Personal workbooks assist in studying and applying God's Word. This will, without a doubt, be one of the greatest opportunities of the year for your child or teenager! In addition, all our High School campers will get valuable ministry tools training and experiences reserved only for them.
