What are
the
counselors like?
Our counselors all serve as leaders in their local churches. They have
experience in Awana ministry and are carefully selected & screened.
The
majority are parents giving up a week of vacation to minister to our
“Cream of
the Crop” kids. They all do it because they love kids!
Who can
be a
Counselor?
An Awana leader currently serving in the Awana program in your church,
approved by
your
Pastor, Commander, and by the DLCI Board of Directors. All applications
must
be made
through DLCI. If you are interested in being a counselor at
our camp, please contact DCLI who will explain the process to you.
We send
our
kids to our church camp.
That’s great! We believe all kids should go to church camp. Life
changing
decisions are made at these camps. Dixieland Leadership Camp is
not
meant to
compete with church camp. It is a special privilege and a discipleship
ministry
for the “Cream of the Crop” kids. There’s something very special about
being
that caliber, and spending a whole week with those kind of kids! It’s
intense
spiritual training, and intense fun!
How do we
register?
Every clubber who wants to attend leadership camp must submit an
application
to DCLI. The form requires input from the parents and from
their Awana club director or commander. This year's form has a much
longer
parental release section. Once ALL parts of the form have been
completed,
signed, and notarized, it can be mailed (U.S. Mail) to the camp
registrar at: Dixieland Camp Registrar, 4212 Old
Washington Hwy, Dayton, TN 37321. Remember
to register
early! All registrations are accepted on a first come first paid basis.
